Case Study

Grant to Greens Norton British Legion Club – Boiler

Background

The old gas boiler in the British Legion Club was already playing up towards the end of March 2024.  Several examinations from specialists confirmed that it was not likely to last another winter.

This was a major blow for the Club as there were no spare funds available to replace a boiler and we certainly couldn’t let our patrons sit in the cold. We were faced with the possibility of a winter using electric heaters, which are very costly and not efficient or have no heating.

Specific Need

We decided that we could not go a winter without a boiler, so we obtained a few quotes. However, this only led to more worry of the inevitable cost.

Then we heard about the Village Hall Trust website.

The Grant Process

After seeking advice from the trust, we tendered our application along with best quote.

The application process was relatively easy using the downloadable form from the website.

After the Village Trust reviewed the application, we soon heard back that we had been successful and would receive a grant for the replacement boiler.

Outcome

The new boiler was fitted during the Summer and is working very well.

We at the Greens Norton RBL Club and all our patrons are extremely grateful to the Greens Norton Village Hall Trust for not only considering our application for a new gas boiler but approving it too.

We would recommend any club, group or individual with a viable proposition to consider applying.
